It’s not original on T-Birds..

If the inner rims are stainless steel, they may be 1952-53 ford, or 1952-1954 Mercury. Some of these inner rims were chrome plated, not stainless steel.

I believe I have seen that car at the Indy Kustom Car Revival or somewhere

 

I took these pics in 2017..

 

The originals were somewhat of a challenge to run cool. With that grill opening it must really be hard to cool.

I think I have an idea... Simply the original strapping was cut and was chromed and reassembled with legs welded with screws.
