strange question but I picked up a set of 56 Caddy Hubcaps to run on my 40 Ford. They wont fit the GM wheels. Seems the inside center hits the center ring of the wheel. Am I missing something? I see them on kustoms all of the time. s-l1600 (2).jpg s-l1600 (1).jpg

The 1956 caps will only go on 1956 deep dish Cadillac wheels. The ones you see everywhere are probably 1957 caps.

This is the only wheel those hubcaps fit on. Hope you didn't pay a lot for them. 56 Caddy wheel.jpg

I had the same issue, I bought some real cherry 56’ caps and couldn’t use em on my Merc. I don’t know why Cadillac did that for that one year (I believe). I’m still pissed about it
Anyhow I ended up finding some 57’ caps and they snapped right on no issues.
    Good luck!!

I wonder if you could cut the outer embossed ring off and use it like a trim ring? or, they make pretty wall hangers

Same here. Bought a nice set, thinking I had it made.
Find out the hard way about the wheel figment.
    Luckily sold them on here.
