Hello all-I need some help with a 56 cad diff . Its noisey and worn out. I have access to a55 diff and Im wondering if it is the same as the 56. Anyone know?
should be the same.49-52,3 was the same.i think.then 53,4 upto late 50's is interchangable.not 100 %but havewoked on a handfull of these
'56 MoToR flat rate book shows seals & wheel bearings same as earlier cars; carrier & axle shafts different. No listing for the gasket to compare. The difference MAY just be in the axle shaft flanges, as the wheels are a major '56 change.
