Look like 1958-60 Ford cabover (C series) headlights.

I saw a 58 Ford pickup headlight setup was used on a 54 in one of my little books.

    That's the same truck. LOL

I wonder if they meant the cabover trucks. 1958 Ford pickup bezels are more flat on the top, kind of "D" shaped.

They probably did, back then "trucks" were usually the big ones like a cabover. "pickups" were the 1/2 ton light duty rigs.

Hey I guessed right on the grille, lol. That was a total guess on my end.

I just scored a stack of 54-55 Olds caps for $5 ea. I love these things. I put them on everything. Looks like the 56 will be wearing them as well.

I think I would do this grille for several reasons. It's a pretty dramatic effect with little modifications, it's a narrowed upside down 58 Ford Pickup grille in a stock surround. I wouldn't think a 58 Ford truck grille would be hard to find or that expensive. It flows nice and looks like it's supposed to be there. image (1).jpg

I have been looking for a while for a 58 grille that was good enough to start with for a while for my 54. Might be more available in other parts of the country, but haven't turned up one usable one in my area in 3 years.

I love this thread, so many good images of these trucks, and great inspiration for my 54 F100.

When I was a kid in the 80's-90's I stared at a 58 project in my neighbor's yard for years. He couldn't give it away. They've since gotten popular.

Dan, that’s one I have been looking at. I looked on eBay and there are used grilles out there, but most are starting at $350 and go up from there. I haven’t ever researched them at swap meets, since I’m just now starting to have interest. They should skyrocket in price in 5…4…..3….2…..

A 59 Ford Pickup grille is similar to the 58's, to open up more possibilities.

I wonder if a 61 (i think it is a 61) chevy grille and headlite assy would work too? you would need to do a custom insert in the center where it says chevrolet.. 61pu.jpg

1st gen bronco has a nice bumper. More detail than the 56. And had bumper guards available

Anyone remember back at least 15 years ago on HAMB there was a 53-56 F-100 with a Studebaker truck grill. If my memory is right truck was Pontiac powered. But the grill was early 60s Studebaker truck and I think it looked really good. Also kind of unique in not seeing any other with same grille. Anybody recall that truck or have a picture?
