I love Fords of these two years. Here are a couple I like-The #25 car is my Dad's fast and furious Figure 8 car from the 70's that raced at Englewood Speedway.
Here is a picture of Andy Southard's '27 T Roadster P/U and his '56 Vicky. Pictured scanned from his book "Custom Cars of the 1950s"
This was my 56 Fairlane with a 460 and C6. Was going to straight axle it but instead it found a new home in the Florida Keyes, Hope it's OK after the hurricanes
[I've seen pics of the teal & white one with the lake pipes posted many times, as here, as a '56. But it's a '55. If it were a sedan you couldn't tell. But look at the roofline. Being a pillarless hardtop, it can only be a '55. Unusuall that it has all '56 trim.
With this thread's reappearance, I realize that I never posted finished photos of my car. In other threads, yes, but never here. So, to rectify that, here's what it looked like when Gary Minor finished reassembling it in 2009: I liked the way it turned out, except that the tires wouldn't stay white. Some people nagged me about my non-traditional wheels, so eventually I killed both birds like this: Some other stuff has changed since that last picture was taken, but it still looks pretty much the same.
this was my sons 56 he did this car about 28 yrs ago he started when he was 15 yrs old drove it when he was 17. he did all the body work and panited it in our drive way.
All of the '56 Ford and Mercury line bodies have some attraction for many. When one comes on the market in my area it is bought in hours after appearing in the media. Folks get really active at auctions when a Crown Victoria comes up for bid. Normbc9
