I need the four washers that are on each side of the needle bearings in a 56 ford three speed overdrive transmission. Ford part # I believe is 354655S. Anybody know where to get these from. thanks
That looks VERY much like a Ford "Standard Part" number, which would mean that it is essentially a hardware store item and not a special Ford part. I do not have a current list here showing that, but my '32 parts book has many very close to that! All transmission parts carry numbers in the 7000 range, with prefixes to indicate the year and type of Ford they went on...look here http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/...cs/Flathead_Trans_1955-60V8OD-260-272-292.jpg and note the difference between Ford parts and hardware numbers, including your washers. See if your Ford dealer has the standard parts list (these parts in general don't change over time)...the book will give correct nomenclature to buy from an industrial hardware supplier or maybe just your local true value, and of course the Ford guy can probably order a 100 of the things for three dollars.
Well......not exactly a local hardware store item. It does carry a Ford hardware type part number. We have them in stock. Seems like $2.00 each. They also come in the 1955-62 small parts kit. You'll have to call our office (during business hours) as they are not listed in our online store.
