so i have some time this weekend to work on the merc. Ill be fabbing up an exhaust, finishing the wiring although its very close to being done. all i have to do is wire my turn signals, fab up sockets for the brakelights and run the headlamp wires. Ill also try to get the front and rear chevelle seats mounted. Dont worry pics will be up sunday night so be sure to check back for progress

On another note Ive been up in the air about running an airbag setup. mainly bc of the cost of a kit. well thats all about to change now. I was just at a local junk yard and decided to get a price on a 97 lincoln air bag setup. 200 bucks they will let me take all i need. I know this will require some fab work but at least i will have all the parts.

Its good for feedback and alternative ideas. I did just send the admin a message about starting a 55-56 mercury parts forum or thread for parts for sale and parts wanted! these parts are getting way to hard to find!

I know I will have some chrome trim from my Merc for sale soon. I do not plan on using any of the outer trim.
56_Ford_custom Im looking forward to your build thread. From the pics ive seen of your 56 you are going to have one sweet ride.
I just made a new photo album in my profile with all of my Mercury pics.

I did a quick and cheap drop. aerostar springs with one coil cut up front and 3 1/4'' blocks in the rear. Im still getting info together on bagging it using mid 90's lincoln airbag system

Im looking into bagging mine right now. I have sent messages out to a few people and made a few call. Im still not getting the info Im looking for. I know what bags to get but I cant find any premade cups for the bags and I'm even haveing trouble finding do-it-yourself cup kits. I will keep researching and see what I can find. Im hoping 56fordcustom post his build thread soon..Im looking forward to seeing his bag setup in the front.

any airbag company will have cups you just have to make sure they are the right size for your bags and rear. Then just find out where you want em and weld them in. Are you making a top crossmember to mount the top of the bags to? 56fordcustom is who gave me all the info on bagging mine. Are you c notching the frame?

I plan on notching the frame in the rear and making a 2 link setup. In the front I plan on putting the bags in the orginal spring perches and relocating the shocks to the outside of the A-arms. There is another guy on here with a 56 buick who has a build thread about bagging his buick. I have included the link for the thread if you want to check it out.

I had already planned on taking the body off of mine. Im very knowledgeable and capable to do everything to my Merc myself..with the exceptions of the air bag system..that is something I have no experiance with. Im not afraid to ask question or get my hands dirty, and ill gladly ask for help when I need it. And I will offer any help or knowledge i can to anyone who needs it. There are some real cool people on here. And this place is a great sorce of Information. unfortunately...until I get my Merc here next week all I can do is research and ask and answer question..lol
