I am not a mercury manor a ford man, and id like to know what kind of rear end a 56' merc has, how accesible they are and how easy they are to aquire parts. Also I'd like to know some about the engine. I think its a Montaray. We are thinkin of gettin one tomarrow, its a 4 door for 1500$ Any pics of one would be nice. Thanks, Wingnut l-O-l
The Merc most likely has a 312 CI in it unless it has been changed over the years.. Can't really help you on the rear, although I read that its fairly hard to find parts for it. Better swapping it for a 8 or 9 inch if the original is in tough shape.
Here's one for ya. Who the FUCK are ya? Howzabout an intro, what you are building, where you are from why yer here.
Wing nut, This question is very strange or I'm just to "OLD". Did you buy a car without looking at it? Does it have a rear axle at all? If it does, exactly what is the problem your trying to correct? You should know parts for old cars are where you find them, hence"The H.A.M.B." Your not going to go into John's auto parts and buy much over the counter for your car. I think we are all here to help you so if you'd clearify the info you want I'll give it another go. I have owned 2 1956 Mercs in the past and still have some pieces and a fair memory. The Wizzard
