    Has anyone done this?

Is the track width similar between my F100 & the Chevy C10?

    What pitfalls will I encounter?

I have a late 70's C10 Chevy truck frame at my disposal (I love freebies!...), and the frame rail width on the Chevy is 34"...

Thanks in advance for any input!...

Send a pm to SamIAm here on the HAMB. Sam was planning to do this exact swap on a 57 F-100. If I remember correctly, the Chevy frame would slide inside the Ford frame rails and the joint would be somewhere near the front cab mount. He had it all figured out. Sam

May not need to hack off the frame. Have you looked at the Chevy? I believe the crossmember unbolts from the bottom of the chevy frame. The crossmember could be set right under the f100 frame. I think the F100 may be a hair narrower but it looks easily doable.

Thanks for the info, Dzus. If I remember correctly, the Chevy frame kicks up a little bit where the suspension cradle bolts to the frame, I will definitely take a second look at it to verify...Thanks again!
