Progress is progress! Only progress on mine lately has been an ever increasing layer of dust!

Well mine is outside, so it's collecting cat prints and leaves. Shop is full of customer cars and it's a pain in the ass pushing a station wagon in and out of the garage by myself! I'm almost to the point where i can drive it, just gotta make it stop o_O

I'll tell ya, it's much easier pushing a Model A project around lol. I just ordered the 2 front brake hoses and the rear center from the Oh really guys. Said they'll be here Tuesday morning. I'm gonna ditch out on the front disc conversation and stay with drums. Upholstery guy is waiting on me so i need to pull the seats and get them to him as well.

Some people would say I'm cRaZy for this , but I went BACK to the stock drums on my '56. I always felt that it stopped better with the drum setup, but that could be the kit I was using too. Either way you go, get it running and driving, you can always upgrade later, and enjoy the Hell out of it in between upgrade's!

Like i said, i couldn't give a shit less about disc brakes, but it was a way to update the bearings. Does anybody make a retrofit for tapered bearings for these drums?

I moved the battery over and bolted it to the water pump, mixing things up a bit

  23. I just read through the thread and congrats on owning a cool model tri five. I believe I have seen the tapered bearings offered . One of the pics I recall showed the rear seat in the correct cobblestone pattern for the 150 model. I own a 150 2 door sedan that I hope to get to soon. The Hamb is a great site. There is also TriFive.com that will be a big help . I have been to Bowling green for the trifive Nats each year and it sure is a place to enjoy all styles , builds, themes , and color combos of the tri fives. Good luck with the build and progress and thanks for your dedicated service.

Same-Same! Eckler's has a kit if you can't find some at a swapmeet somewhere.

Well thank ya sir! I've creeped around on tri five looking for answers to some of my questions. I'm sure the ball bearings will work as long as they are maintained, but I'll figure something out. If i have any money left after the hot rod reunion i might try to attend the tri five nationals, guess we'll see when the time comes lol

It's been a pleasure helping out for the most part, been more ups than downs. But any time you can do good upon your fellow man it's a great day. There's good in everybody i believe.

I've driven my Nomad 300,00 miles in the last 29 years, with ball bearings and non-power drum brakes. I did add self-adjusters off a later drum-brake full size Chevy.
