Wondering what type of steel wheel do the 57 caddy hubcaps fit? will they fit on a stock 15x7 gm steel rim? is anybody still making bullet centers for them? Thanks in advanced!
I had regular old 15 inch 70 something Chevy rims on my Merc when I had them on it. That was in 1984, that rugrat just turned 44 a few weeks ago on July 9th. Car had a rear Steer Camaro subframe and 65 Chevelle rear end with a 350R olds. Gene Winfield sells the "right" bullets for them. The red centers in mine were trailer tail light lenses. the kind that were held in with a steel ring. Put in from the back side like the stock centers were.
They fit my 15" smoothies. I think they would fit most any 15" wheel. They have the "teeth" that bite on the i.d. of the wheel barrel.
Side note, 55/56 caps don't fit anythign except the Cadillac wheels that they were made for and some later 60's early 70's Cad caps that aren't real attractive only fit the Cadillac wheels that they are designed for that has an exaggerated lip on them. Those are the wheels and caps that take the "Cadillac" wheel weights.
I have some from a '61 Caddy, they won't fit a chevy wheel. 2 3/4" deep dished right after the "teeth "
Get creative and use something other than bullets in the center....bullets in the center are like belly-****ons....everybodys got em'!
