My 13 year old daughter came with me to Dirty's last Friday. She has watched me spend countless hours on my car. But Friday she got bitten by the bug and is interested in a pick up truck for her first car. This gives me the excuse to build a 1957 chevrolet pick up. I already own a stocker. I want to give her power brakes, steering ac la la la la. I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I don't want it to turn a 12 second quarter. I am inclined to buy a late model vehicle and swap the body on to it so she can go to the brake shop or front end shop or wherever and say it is a 1990 buick, chevrolet, dodge or whatever. I know this is not acceptable to some of your tastes but if it keeps my daughter communicating with me and out of a hundai I am willing to bend a few traditional rules.

Is there anyone who can give me advice on such a swap and what doner vehicle they used.

    thanks Dan
