This was a 3200 , I put it on a 3100 frame and shortened just the front of the box. Most people don't notice the slightly longer rear section
As far as dropped Axle, Sid is no longer doing them to order and is only doing up batches to take to certain swap meets or car shows. Rather in the mode of Semi retired extra money. If you can catch him at one of the places he likes to go to sell life is good but no sending yours in to be dropped anymore. At the same time you can sometimes find one for sale that someone has pulled out to stick an independent in. There are no Hamb friendly independent front ends that fit a Task Force truck though. A guy could put a 40/54 front crossmemember under a 47/54 Chevy truck and that would pass muster but no aftermarket or post 65 front suspensions. 63/65 Chevy C 10 front ends will not work because the 57 frame is way too wide. Beware, as a new guy a lot of the bull shit artists will post their opinions that may not jive with what you actually need just because they see new meat to spread their bullshit to. If I got their undies in a knot so be it but I call it as I see it. This is the link to the GM heritage center archives for 1957 Chevy trucks and has a lot of nit picking info that you may not find anywhere else. https://www.gm.com/content/dam/comp...its/chevrolet-trucks/1957-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf Save that link to your favorites so you have it to refer to.
We had those guys in Southeast Missouri at the Stoddard County Fair, they had a contest each year of throwing cow patties, some of those guys were complete artists.
Here is mine. Heidts coil over front with 500 lb springs. Power rack. Slider leaf springs with lowering blocks.
