I have a chicken and the egg question:

BBC Motor being built needs an oil pan (old one is shot). The Flat-Out Engineering C-4 front end is not in yet. Does anyone know whether I'll have clearance issues with any oil pan? I don't want to buy one oil pan just to find out that I'll need a different one due to clearance.

I might as well ask the same question for the headers now too.

    Thanks for any help,
    Bill

I'd wait until the frontend is in and then use the pan you have to figure out where the engine will sit, and just position the pan in the general area to see. Then you can decide if a stock pan will work.

Can't really wait: Motor is ready for Break-in and the pan is shredded around the dipstick (would leak really bad).

Get the BB oil pan that goes straight back and drops to the oil pump area, not the stepped pan. Any good header company can tell you what header will fit the P/U frame, your front clip is not in the way in that area.
