Bed and fenders going to the sandblaster soon....then comes the task of cutting out and welding in new cab corners.

Bed is off. Going to the sandblaster some time this week. Re-wiring the ass end of the truck. Gonna pressure blast the frame and coat it with paint to seal it up.

One thing about these trucks...they're consistent...they all seem to rust in the same areas.....

Thanks! And ya Ive noticed they rust in the same places. Just a matter of how much rust there is. I gotta find someone to cut out and weld the rotted out cab corners in for me. I dont have the skills/equip to do it haha.

looking good taylor... if you want it lower, you can always remove a few leafs from the pack. when i first lowered my 57 i used those same shackles and removed 4 of the original 7 leafs. now i have all leafs back in, original shackles, and flipped rear.

did you get your speedo issue worked out? mine did something similar. i cracked the speedometer open to find that the spring on the inside of the speedo body had gotten all bound up. -DVZ

When you put the automatic in it you should also install the "Side mount" engine mounts. Using the mounts on the front of the engine with a tailshaft crossmember puts a lot of stress on the automatic transmission bell housing. It's some extra cost and work but may save you a whole lot of grief in the long run..............

Your truck is starting to come alive man! Real inspiration for me to get on mine, but you gotta flip that rear axle brother. Then you'll be real happy.
Course then you'll need a notch and possibly shorter shocks and this and that, hell it never ends does it...gotta love it.
