I came across this video on YouTube this morning and with the recent talk about Barn Hunter's selling his custom Corvette, Dominique, I thought it would be of interest here. The car was owned by Bill Shelle and was called Bali Hai. It was shown at the 1960 Oakland Roadster Show and was last on the road in 1964. While bittersweet it sounds like Mr. Shelle has sold the car to the Galpin Auto Group and that they will be bringing it back to it's 1960 form.
Right?! My thoughts exactly! On one hand I was sad to see Mr. Shelle let go of his car, but on the other hand I thought it was cool that he was looking out for his family, and that he wanted to see the car brought back to its former glory but he knew that he wouldn't be able to do it himself. It takes guts to arrive at that "place" and then have the courage to do something about it.
...Stills...pretty neat Vette...the near stocker at the top is the base that became the Custom shown... Sounds like it will be given the love it needs...Bill Shelley, thanks for p***ing on the Torch that lit and still lights your p***ion for Vintage Custom... Credit to Videographer, Owner
