I’ve seen caps people have had chromed before, they are cool. He caps are just stamped steel, no stainless

Do the 57 headlight buckets fit any other car or truck?

Today on my lunch break (now workin from home for the most part) I put my heater together. I ordered a gasket set for it and the hardware store had the right size rubber grommets and chrome blower motor acorn nuts. Last year, I bought a 1960 F350 for parts for my 1960 crew cab. The F350 is a flatbed and had these ammo boxes mounted to the sides. Once I got it home, I popped those cans open and was surprised to see this heater face that someone chromed. Score!! Now it has a home

I have no idea. 1956 ford truck would be close,
Aside from that I don’t think so

Finally got my firewall pad a couple days ago, and slowly got it in and all everything hooked up and working. All cable controls, heater, e brake, etc back to functional.

Did some painting today. And installed door seals. The door seals was not super fun but it’s done

also, while I was painting, I fixed an area that drives me nuts. This truck at some point got a pass side fender on it. Probably when it was not a very old truck. When they painted it, they didn’t paint the “jam” under the hood. I scuffed it, primed it and shot some paint on it. Needs a little more magic to age it a little, bit looks better than the red oxide 1782D697-7513-4BE4-9EB7-C36228D29561.jpeg 283377D5-9194-482D-B54E-4D3C41EFF06F.jpeg B9B9E366-3786-43C0-9BFF-86C1BB4CAD32.jpeg A3D1EF91-C79C-4041-ADE4-EED80BE57BAF.jpeg 6BDD42D5-80E3-4CE6-ADEE-2A4253BB3317.jpeg 66A05708-2D9F-4533-869C-2DD12E01569F.jpeg 5D441667-7826-4F27-AD6B-8524EF258EBE.jpeg

On the road...no interior yet. Corona has shut down my Upholster’s foam supplier.

Still waiting on upholstery but did get my shocks finally. Meanwhile...cruising Facebook marketplace I see a guy parting a 59 F100 out. The seat looked decent and was cheap. So I grabbed it, scrubbed it today and it cleaned up well for sitting in a parts truck in the woods for the past 2-3 decades. So, at least after it dries I can drive the truck around until I get the actual seat for it...and I needed a seat for another project anyways, so win/win?

  15. Looks great! Anyone would be proud to have that in their driveway. I really like the black and white. That would be a killer interior combo.

    Chris, will a '57 headlights/grill fit on a '58,'59?

Yes, the front fenders and valance are 57-58 because of the park light location. Hood is also 57-58. 59-60 had the same front fenders, different hoods, grills and valances. But all is interchangeable, I've seen some goofy miss-matched trucks

The pickup looks great, and those seats scrubbed up well also. Keep the updates coming.

Maiden voyage farther than my neighborhood over the weekend to the hardware store to get some supplies for my wife’s planter boxes. Sid is sending me some custom made rear shackles as the extended ones I bought from him are rubbing the bottom of the bed. Aside from that, and eventually getting the upholstery, this thing is about wrapped up. I’m impressed. Drives and steers very well.

    Looks really good.
'57-'60 must be the best looking generation of Ford pickups.

I never thought I'd like that generation of Ford truck, but you sure know how to make them look good!

Changed it up a little, swapped some 15’s with Lancers on it...I like it! Seat is still in upholstery jail... I do have all the stuff to convert this to a V8 this winter
