Technical 1957 fairlane padded dash ?

    1957 fairlane padded dash install questions. What kind of glue and location have you used? These are expensive and I don’t want to screw it up. Windshield is out of car. I have used rachet straps to pull it up snug for trimming. Does sitting in the sun affect the dash pad? As in expansion making it swell or pull? Ideas apreciated.

    Sun will rot the vinyl over time and the foam padding disintegrates on its own. Unless a concours restoration it’s better left off and the stainless holes filled or put back on; I’ve seen many 56’s that have the trim and no padded dash.
    Do not use the spray can upholstery adhesive for something like this if you’re going to use it. Spray contact cement like the upholstery shops use is the best and been discussed here on the HAMB.
