oh wait did i say i have 6 weeks for this im going to the power big meet in sweden this year. anyway i had a 67 Cadillac driveline laying around wich i put up for sale the 429 engine sold yesterday so that going into the 58 and the gearbox. axl and driveshaft wil sell soon to hopefully. i will do***ent the entire progress if i dont forget to shoot some pics
took me a while but almost done. just have to move the 67 seat and the old upholstery behind it. then i wil be ready to move the 58 to the middle aisle. im gonna put her on dolly,s and move her into position.
well i put her on the dolly,s ready to move her to the middle aisle. but then out of nowhere she didnt make the corner she is to wide. but i could laugh about so now i have to clean out the other side of the shop where i have the bikes. she is gonna go thru the small doors with room to spare a whole 6 cm thats gonna be a fun one. but thatsfor tommorow. its 00:30 am overhere gonna hit the shower and then the bed
today i moved al the stuff around again to make room on the side where the Cadillac needed to be. then i had to pull of a door. drove her around and positioned her infront of the small doors. used a manual winch to pul her is for maximum control at the tightes she had 3cm of room total. that was fun its 10 pm now gonna take a shower shovel some food in and crash.
finally ready to pull the noseclip of hopefully have the engine and trans out bij Monday. damn its just hard to start taking it apart ive been working on it for years and now its al together sort of driving. kinda hard to start but its gonna be for a good reason and she wil be back in one piece again in about 37 days. so stop *****ing and start hihihihi
im gonna make a booster brackes but first need a booster like this one. the bracket im gonna make myself. but here is the question im gonna convert to discs in the front but not yet. would it hurt to have a discbrake booster for my front and back drums temporarely. so when i swap the drums for discs i dont have to ge another new brake booster. i hope some one knows the answer thanks
had a harsh week dad had a heart attack but he is home again and doing great. so got some time to work on my car again. pulled the trans of its gonna be picked up for rebuilding. and i am pulling my engine apart looks rather good i found some artwork on the trans and engine a smiley face and a date. that said 7-11-84 so i am not the first one here i found one different pushrod. i would change them al but thats me. and different gaskets on the heads. everything looks pretty good on the inside.
wel here are the last pic,s of the day. and before you had to ask i snapt one with the artwork . if someone would recognize the artwork wich would be amazing to say the least but stil could be. let me know. i love every bit of history of the car i can get my hands on. also i am having some impure thoughts about airride and suicide doors like the 1958 eldorado brougham. but i tuck them away for now. altough a 3x2 set up and stainless dual exhaust linger in my mind too but thats completely sane ofcourse.
pop goes the pistons hihihi and removed the oil pump. next up the crank and then the measuring starts. and we wil see what needs replacing and place the orders. some rebuild kits and some other stuff and goodies ofcourse. cleaning everything up in the meanwile.
Let the fun begin.Looks pretty clean inside.Well maintained.OR maybe a rebuild in the"recent" past? Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
it looks amazing for its age. i was pleasantly surprised it wil look nice after its al clean gonna be pretty sweet to put together again. the pistons have Cadillac on the inside so i think it has the Original pistons. i Always thought the mileage was to little and the clock went round once but now i think its the actual mileage. and the clean sheatmetal supports that. i think it was kept inside for a long time until the Original owners p***ed and someone bought it and drove it a few years and parked outside and she got a little rough. but that just a theory ofcourse.
well guys gotta show you my new goodies. need some work but the lines are there. im gonna go for a tripower but a four power sound better and better pretty damn happy with those. even if its just for looking at it while i drink beer.
gonna go to the power big meet next month so ill probably find some kits for them. and some cool aircleaners. and dont worry guys i know how the tri power set ups work. gotta get some new baseplates for the secundaries and plug the idle circuits. and a progressive link system. i would love some tips on books for these carbs and set ups i know the theory but i could use guidence for rebuilding them. so if you got some ***les of books i would apreciate it.
im heading towards sweden in 3 hours for the power big meet in vasteras gonaa take 2 days of driving but its gonna be great i bought a Chevy van for the trip pretty comfy but not really a fan so that wil be sold when i get back again. anyway i hope to see allot of fun stuff and buy some fun stuff
wel it was a reall experience to be at the power big meet in vasteras sweden. i had fun but was also glad to be home. i didnt find any rebuilt kits for my holley 94 carbs. or even progresive linkage. i think the meet mostly atracted the wrong crowd hardly any hotrods street rods or customs. but many many sbc stuff and new stuff like clothing wheels and tires. there was some old stuff mostly late 50s and 60s. anyway im gonna buy some carb stuff in the states anybody has some leads for me or links. im also looking for a good book on those old carbs. i need to make a tri power. and i have to plug the idle circuits on the 2 outside carbs and that kind of stuff and im new to it so i need some guidance i dont want to ruin them they are pretty scarce over here.
well my parts guy didnt came thru. so im gonna buy a rebuild kit in the states. anybody got tips on wich one to buy
thanks man love your cars we dont have much options in this country carwise not like you over there. but i am Lucky for having this space thats for sure its hard to keep clear. the more room you got the more **** you fill it with.
