58s are my favorite car of all time probably, (the 34 ford truck is a close second), but i love the 57-59's in general. truthfully, i kinda wish i had a 59, i think they're more unique and i love they're taillights and body style. but my '58 has turned more heads, got a LOT of questions and thumbs up. and ive had plenty of high school adventures in that thing too. i wanna bag mine but the cost is way out of my league. ill just keep dreamin about that i guess lol. if you can get a 57-59 ford, go for it, they're awesome cars to customize.
luvzccr-- yeah i saw your youtube video of you pullin into costco! you should bring that thing up to to midnight mass man, id love to see it.
ahh that video is old haha, and my yblock at the time wasnt running too great, i was young and just wanted to get out and drive the thing already after the swap, i regret it, which led me to waiting a few years to do this 460 bbf swap now. im taking my time and doing everything right this time, (disc brakes, wiring harness, new shocks, brand new parts for just about everything lol). my goal is to get it in tip top shape to drive it to the beach, preferably santa maria. one day i'll try goin to midnight mass! where is it held though?
ohh ok haha that sounds badass. Well this year its held at the gibson ranch right outside of sacramento but its worth the drive, best show of the year for sure
I have a '58 Fairlane 500 fourdoor, and love it. It's lowered, has a 223, and runs great. I havent seen alot of em out at shows, but I love em.
I too have a 58 Fairlane 500 It s is usualy the only 58 Ford Car at the events I attend . Ford sales were down somthing like 30-35% in 58 as a oposed to 57 which accounts for the scarcity of the 58. Concours in Carson City has had every reproductiuon part I have needed. There are patch panels availalble for all the problem spots. Mine has the 352, Cruisomatic 9' combo for a running gear. Cruisomatic is giving me fits, but a C-6 supposedly bolts in farly easily. I feel into my 58 and it has really grown on me, fun, fairly unique, solid car.
is yours the white 2 door hard top??? i looked at that car for like 30 minutes when it was at the circus circus car show like 8 months ago! very nice. and yeah i have ordered a few parts from concours there in carson, they seem to have a lot of excellent parts
That's my white one!!Thanks for the kind words..if you looked it over that close, you know I have a lot to do, but it is a great 50 footer!!!
wow i love that '59 gohst58!! i mean, this is a thread about '58s lol but that looks soooo clean and nice, love the seats too, im about to do some interior and upholstery work on mine and that just looks great.. is it bagged or just lowered?
yeahhh ghost58 that thing is sickkkk, thats like the exact look i was going to go with for the 58 i plan to buy
i spy with my little eye..... a 58 peeking around the corner! whats the info on that one? a project, a parts car maybe? if its a parts car... ooooh i need me some floor pans haha, but wow yours looks great, very clean and shiny. any interior shots?
Good eye, yes it's another '58 that one is a four door and yes it will be parted out. floor boards are decent the front clip belongs to a buddy of mine. here is a pic. of the interior of the black one the wagon is next in line
love that bench seat you got there, with the little center console too. what are those seats out of?? im trying to think if i need any parts for mine.. i know i do, but the floors im just gonna be cutting out tiny pieces so i doubt i'll need an entire replacement. im sure i'll think of something eventually lol
The seat is out of a '67 buick riviera it a 6 way power bench/bucket let me know if you need anything
