    My cousin had a 58 Custom 300 2door back in the 60's. Azure blue with a 292 T-Bird, skirts, flippers, pacemaker mufflers, it was COOL. That thing has a 3 speed and would run 90 in second gear! Got $200.00 bucks for it when he traded in on a 65 Galaxie. I still have the skirts and 4 bar Lancers he had on it!

    She got a good scrub down with Purple Power and shining better now. Adjusted carb Saturday too, so running like a Swiss watch now :)

    Where's all these places you can get parts for these cars? I know of Macs and a few others, anyone care to list these places? Looking for any and as many sites and places as possible.

    Bout to go the air ride route myself as well. Anyone want to post pics of their setup?

  11. While actually a 57 Ford site you will find 57fordsforever.com full of links, resources and help. 57s and 58s are really similar and share many things both good and bad.

    Jerry's rebuilt my power steering set up. Don't go cheap on the balljoints!

  14. I try and stay away from Macs as much as possible. One that doesn't get much notice is C&G ford parts. But there are many more.

    I have a good memories from my older sisters 58 Ford 4 door, baby blue, V8, automatic, learned to drive in this car and drove many miles with her from age 15 to 16. For what ever reason, here in Wi., or anywhere I go, do not see many at car shows, always look at one when I see one, apparently not many survived or saved.

    We had a 58 Fairlane 500 as a family car back in early 60's
    Gray and white 4 door.
    352 "Police Interceptor Special" ...never really knew the significance of the term;
    just that it ran like hell.
    3sp automatic
    Really liked that car. Looked sharp all cleaned up.
    Dad traded it off for a '70 Ford (dullsville, man)

    Not mine, now belongs to my youngest son, his older brother gave it to him sans motor and trans, had a strong 312 for 12 months prior, my young son wants to run a 390FE 4 speed. Looks like some of my old engine stock is going to get rebuilt.
    Car has a bit of rust, but nothing a grinder, welder and some bog can't fix. Car was originally olive green.
