Okay, How do I do the conversion on a 58 impala to run ower steering? I have been told there is a conversion box. I need to know if this is true, and which box do I use?
    Thanks

The company I have used several times is Cl***ic Performance Products, Anaheim, Ca. They sell at least a couple pwr steering boxes (Delphi 600, and the 500 series) with the necessary components to complete the install. CPP sells 1958 Chevy pwr steering kits. Check them out, you'll be glad you did.

Jim, you can use a factory 605 GM stock box, and either remove the '58s power steering crosslink (if it has it) and replace it with a NON power one, or get a convesion "stub" that eliminates the power aspect of the power cylinder. Also as they above have mentioned several companies make complete kits for the change over.
