Welcome from Indy. Ive' been trying to buy a 58 two door from a guy for over a year now. It's a one family owned car and he just won;t pull the trigger.....yet. I don't know much about them other than it looks like a Edsel to me. Try shooting a p.m. to Mercuryjunkie on here, he may have your answers. Tom.

Hey Tom hope they let go soon. They're pretty interesting cars. 58 Mercs were the first car to hit 400hp. They detuned them twice that year to lower horse and then bumped them back up to 350 in 59. Motors before Jan 58 had th higher 10.5 to 1 compression. They even sold decompression kits for those who could'nt get high octane fuel. I'll keep an eye for your post when you get it. Bill

If it is a 58 ParkLane the engine should be gold. All ParkLanes came with 430 engines. Do you have the Duel Range automatic? It should. I have a black 58 ParkLane 4dr.ht. Sweet car and runs great. It is big and heavy but I can kick the tail sideways when I stomp on it at around 30mph.

thanks, Boards are great. I also have been picking up a lot of magazines and books with good info on specs. Just picked up an l300 tripower intake. Looking for center carb for original factory setup presently. It takes a while but it seems parts pop up occationally. 58 PARKLANE. Project is going slow. Lots of health issues this winter. My name is Don Gill-More, I live in Kent WA, south of Seattle, and my phone number is 206-427-7281. I just changed pages in side the HAMB message board and lost an hour's worth of technical data about your 58 Parklane VIN, dataplate decode and 400 HP 430 Tripower setups I have had 4 complete sets of 58 Merc/Lincoln 400HP Tripowers and have one for sale now. Call me if you are interested in some data on your car. I bought my current Edsel Citation convertible in August of 1960.
