Yes, my good friend, *****, on this board has that beautiful lilac 58 convert with white top and 58 Chrysler fins.
I always loved the one Marvin Lee built in 58 that car on the street had no equal. haven't seen nor heard of it since I went into the navy in 1960
Vince's car? I dunno, Id be pretty against changing much on those bodies, esp the small tail lite fins. Those are perfect.
My very mild 58 custom. 56,000 original mile Flat 6, three speed on the column. Lowered 2 inches all four corners, twice pipes with bellflowers, some pinstripping, etc. Not sure if this will do it for you, I love it! Buckle
And yes, I do have a few pictures of late '50s Plymouth customs. Chryslers, DeSotos, Dodges, and Imperials too.
Oh man, thanks for posting those pics! Seeing those pictures makes me want to sit in my car tonight in my driveway at dusk and turn on the cool lights so I can stare at the dash board all lit up, I do that occ***ionally. Pretty sic I know. Buck-Fin
yes chris its coming along pretty good if your in south orange stop at j.s,s shop and check it out alot of work done
Let's see some pictures of your buddy's car. Sounds interesting. Oh yeah, here is my heap. It's probably a good thing that you can't see it.
Yes! That lovely purple Plymouth is the one. I can't remember the owners name but let him know I remain perpetually aroused. Some people don't, but I prefer the 57's vertical front gill apetures. They must disturb some folks sense of visual harmony and desire for lower and longer but I appreciate their transgressive nature. (And I might add, "**** everyone else.")
Yes, exactly. Call me weird. I prefer the '57 valence too. I prefer the parking lights. And I MUCH prefer the hood, you get nice looking letters instead of a big blocky hood ornament thing. And the tail lights are better. Of course, this is all my opinion. Which is good for me, because I can get good parts when some goofball builds another Christine. The user with the purple convert is Paso John, I believe.
Gotgas, that purple 58 you posted in the lower right corner is my friend Adam's car from NY. That is a REAL Fury, and it has a 426 Hemi, 2x4s, Hemi-spec 833 and a 8.75" rear. Very serious car that has seen MANY miles. I believe his best time was an 11.8 with it. He also has a red and white scalloped 58 savoy custom that he has also owned for many years.
Hey, Yes, 1957-'58, Exner's day in the sun, before it all went so wrong for him. He fought like hell to usher in the fin as a design moteif, probably held on to it alittle to long, as well. The great thing about '57-8's is they looked kustom in oem form. 'can't say the same thing of the GM's from that era. S****ey Devils C.c.
I striped this car.It is one of the most beautiful car I have ever seen.I have never seen so must chrome. The owners are two of the nicest people I have ever met.
I'm SERIOUSLY looking for a '58 Plymouth front bumper if any one knows whare I can track one down. Thanks Jim
Should be more of this one in an upcoming issue of Kustoms Illustrated. Like Darin said it is a very nice car.
Many moons ago, maybe the early 80's, I wanted to go street racing in something a little "different". I had the drivetrain ready to go, it was a well built 440 disguised as a stock 413, and most of the work on the car was done when it was.... STOLEN. What was done with it, I have no idea.... it's a CANADIAN Dodge, a 1959 Dodge Viscount, Dodge up front, Plymouth in the rear..... Oooops- it *WAS* a four door sedan, after I was done with it the car was the turning radius CHAMPION!!
anyone got any pic of th eengine compartment on this car? its got SO much chrome in there... absolutly stunning car.
