Hi Here's a couple more pictures of my new parts hauler. just painted the front grill silver instead of red. Going to change the colour of the wheels aswell, not sure what colour yet. just going to keep driving it and change things as and when i get time. Cheers Andy
CJ, I love the interior. It is elegantly understated. What steering wheel are you using on that column? Jeff
This has probably been covered, but I can't seem to be able to find a company that makes a rear axle flip kit for the 57-60. I have seen them for the older 53-56 fords...are they the same? I know I could cut and weld my own but a kit would make life easier.
CPP carries the c-notch kit. You'll still need to do some cutting and welding. The kit contains notches and boxing plates.
I have seen the c-notch kits and will be using one of those, but have also seen an actual axle flip kit consisting of the u-bolts and metal brackets to weld to the axle and some shock plates. Just wondering if anyone else has seen these. Maybe I'm just being lazy and should just cut the metal brackets off that are already on the axle and re-weld them.
I replaced the brackets. I think I ordered them from a 4x4 supply house. Any which way you cut it your gonna need to do some cutting and welding
Nice thread with some cool rides! I'm working on a 56 panel truck and looking for the extended rectangular mirrors, as the little round chrome ones are not good with the vent window bar in the way. I'm looking for function and the Panels have such a huge blind spot on the pass. side. What years should I look for to bolt in the stock 56 door holes? Thanks and love y'alls trucks!
Here's my 59 again. The front and rear end are done! All I have to do is weld in the boxing plates for the back. Bumper, hood, and bed are just sitting there.
Sweet Jon...engines not it it yet, right? You managed to find a truck with a pretty good tailgate, also!
Yeah engine isn't in yet. Still need to fab up engine mounts and all that fun stuff. It's coming home soon though!
