Wow, nice build! Can't wait to see this one done... you're building a Chevy in the UK and I'm building a Vauxhall over here, ha!

thats good going! how hard is it to get vauxhall bits over there?!

no problem, i think dads contacted you on rods and sods.

so pre-weekend update. sign writing a car this weekend so wont have anytime to tackle the bolts on the rear wheel tubs.
waited a couple weeks for this to arrive, got it off ebay a few weeks back. dont need it yet but was cheap enough to get while it was about, will be sanding it down and a good polish and detail when i get a chance. will get a few more photos of some of the more detail bits ive been collecting for the build. nice big chunky offenhauser rocker cover, will try find a side plate to match at a later date.

I get the impression this is going to be a seriously detailed and tidy truck by the time you're finished. Nice one!

thankyou, yeh thats the plan, all the usual overlooked areas will be highly detailed, and from the outside it will be sattin dark blue, black steels with shiney chevrolet hub caps, truck sitting on the floor. quite plan looking from the outside and high detailed once you get looking around. plan is to build a straight six turbo engine, with all the old period parts, like the offy cover and various finned shiney parts. will be making a full alloy rad and intercooler with boost hoses, plan is tobe very different and keep teh engine bay shaved but everything function correctly.

dvla paper work came through yesterday, so its all legit now and registered. whooop!
so today got cracking and took some bolts out and things just fell off, very impressed how mint everything is! only had one bolt snap.
forgot to take progress pictures, looks like it only took a few mins to all come off but took most of the day. next up on axle stands and engine out.

been busy most of this year getting my golf "project" done, was supposed to be a quick one but got carried away making loads of one off parts and going over the top with wanting more power!

couple photos if anyone is intersted, i made all the alloy parts and my mate welded them all up at work (im an alloy fabricator) so to easy to get carried away, only been in the fab department for nearly a year so was a nice little excersise to see what i can do and get some basic skills down to get ready for the truck.

i hope you can all see my inspiration is from the era we all love, lots of hands on fab work went into it, i no its on the thing on here and many people who like 30-50s cars may not get it but hope cans ee the hard work i put in, if anyone wants a little flick on my local forum to see most of it from the start

so back on track now winter is coming to get a start on the welding on the truck and front end in, changed my wind and will be going for air ride, i really want to get the bottoms of the doors on the floor, so got to go down 11" in total, but want to pump it up enough to drive down our bad english roads.

got this manifold off us ebay and took a wihle to wait for it to come over, wasnt cheap but really love the look of them, wont be staying yellow thankfuly! hopeful bring some more interesting updates in a month or so!

looks Rad man, Alongside traditional Rods and Kustoms i also have a deep passion for all things VAG. It may be completely off topic but the quality and amount of thought going into it speaks for itself. cant wait to see those skills applied to the Chevy......and that manifold is cool.

Fair play to you. Always admire someone from my neck of the woods taking on some American steel.

I remember the good ole MOT. Man, they were strict as hell...and that was with modern cars!
