Love the 1959 Caddy, the most majestic of the finned '50s cars. Here's a couple of it's 5000 pound, 4 door brethren.

  2. Well done to save it, the flattop roof fits so darn perfect to the fins, i think its the most cool cruiser of all 59s. Have fun and start a build thread about it, all we are curious :D

Or you could remove the back doors and slide the rear forward.

  6. Man that is cool! They truly will never make them like that again. The trunk space is larger than a long bed pickup truck I bet haha

I could have bought a used windshield within 100 miles from me for the '65 Falcon but instead bought one from Auto City Classic in Isanti, MN. It was packaged so well that I doubt it could have been damaged unless someone ran a forklift through it. The travel time and the possibility of breaking the used windshield while removing it convinced me it was better to buy new. The only issue I had wasn't with Auto City, but the FedEx driver. He wouldn't wait for me to help him, so he slid the crate out the back of the van, stood it on one end and walked away from it. I steadied it until he finally helped me lay it down. I refused to sign for it until I had opened and inspected it. As I said before, the packaging was excellent and there was no damage.

Autocity does not manufacture the curved rear glass. They manufacture all of the rest.

Might want to check out interchange books. IIRC, a lot of the gm groups of that year used the same basic platform(body roof & inside structure(s), + similar floor pans. Glass should interchange 'twixt a lot of them, which ones, I don't know.

You'll have to put money in 2 meters to dock that boat! What an awesome find!!

  14. Probably 3 meters if he's towing a dinghy! :p

Impala’s share the same roof as well as the Electra. I’ve seen someone use a complete 59 Impala floorpan in their Ecto-1 clone.
