any info appreciated.i have a 59 belair, with a great running crate 350 that was installed around 6 years ago.the car has some rusty floors and some other issues.a friend gave me a 78-79 impala right after.i wanted to see if I could use some of the stuff off the later and install on the 59?such as the power steering, disk brake parts.i was thinking about removing the power glide and installing the transmission from the impala into the belair.which is either a turbo 350 or 400?any info greatly appreciated.thanks.

I have a '59 Bel Air with a 350/350 from a '78 Caprice. It works great. To the best of my knowledge no other part is a direct swap, but do some searches and you may surprise us both. You don't need power steering with that big steering wheel. In fact, you don't need discs either. I run all 4 drums and drive in Chicago traffic. I did add a dual MC from (I think) a '67 and the booster from a '63 or '64 - all new parts from RockAuto.com

I can't agree more on keeping the drums with just a simple swap to a booster. The only reason for disc would be towing lots of weight in hilly areas. "Simple works".
