I lowered mine 3" all the way around with brand new springs from Coil Spring Specialties. It rides like a brand new car, well, a brand new 59 car anyway! but 3+ inches lower. Give them all the car's specs (engine, etc) and they'll send you new springs. This was a few years ago, but it cost me $300 shipped and took about 2 weeks.

'59's are a family thing. Grandpa bought a Belair sedan new and it lasted 3 generations before somebody totaled it while my sister owned it. Dad had a drop top 348/4bbl/4spd/ power everything that he sold just before I turned 15....BUT, I just found our new family cruiser. :D Going to get it next Sat, and already have stuff lined up for it. :)[IMG]

Hellfish, as someone who notices and loves every '59 Chevy he sees, I have to say that yours is probably the most beautiful one I have ever seen!

I need to find some better photos of my old white '59. I regret selling this car more than any other I have owned.
I saw another photo of it on page 5 of this thread.

Hood Clearance is a concern. Not sure if the dual or triple carbs will fit?

Here is a 1959 Impala that just wandered ;) into the herd. It is a nice original car that someone started to dismantle. Missing a few parts but overall a very complete car with 283/4 barrel/powerglide. Has pb, ps, aftermarket air, tinted glass and was/is an ugly green over cream two tone car.

Maybe I will leave it the cream color with black top and trunk, black steelies. I'm looking for ideas so if anyone cares to share, lets hear it.

My dad had a 59 El Camino, and I'd love another. I've also been given serious thought about turning our 61 Impala 4 door into an El Camino lately.

My favorites are the El Caminos, chop top 4 door, and convertible with dagmars. Any chop top El Caminos or wagons?

Here's a more recent pic of my 59. Kinda wish I'd left the hood scoop off, though.
