Made a little progress, been vacationing most of the month, so it's getting in the way.

Got an air hammer to clean up the rear, and my dad got me a acetylene torch.

Got some of the front brake lines in, I'd like to get tighter bends, so I ordered another tool. Also got a 700r4 today already bolted it in.

Moved the cab back, dropped the engine into the chassis

Had to modify the tranny crossmember to make room for the brake booster, pretty happy my welds are improving.

Sorry these pictures are pretty bad

I had to remove the bend and add a plate to support it lower. Feeling pretty accomplished getting the motor in. Waiting on some parts for brakes, and parts for the rear end.

    Sweet! Elbrujo

Got the core support cleaned up, welded it and painted. Had to drill a few holes to fit the firebird radiator from my donor vehicle.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1395117542.258765.jpg

These fans are a little too close for comfort, I need to make sure that's a short water pump, otherwise I'll probably move the fan to the front of the radiator
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1395117664.296235.jpg
    Any suggestions or ideas?

  5. Slimmer fans? I have a 1 1/2 in deep Spal fan in my model a. If I'm not mistaken that's the shallowest fan available.

I got some Allen bolts and removed a spacer
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1396483715.026076.jpg
So I got some room, and the rounded bolts shouldn't snag anything if they do touch.

Just got back from Hawaii. Today I ran some more brake line, then it started raining so I'm calling it a day.

Found a bench on Craigslist today, I originally was looking for a spare to rebuild mine, but this one is in pretty good shape so I'll just throw a Mexican blanket on it.

Made some progress today, got the front sway bar installed, it was a pain because the frame is boxed in the front. Also progressive sent the wrong size sway bar, then sent me the correct size, and I'll use the smaller one on the rear.
Boxed the rear today, and put the cab back on. Mocked up the ride height and will order a 4 link kit tonight.

  15. Hey Kyle, are you going through run the exhaust on the inside of the rails or the outside?

It's outside, right now it sticks out under the passenger side. I'll figure out the rest soon.

Sorry for the shitty pictures, just want to show elbrujo the exhaust so far.

I plan on keeping the orange patina

  19. Got it! I figure my exhaust will run outside the rails as well due to the transmission and power brake booster assembly being so close together and I don't really want anything hanging lower than the rails except for the cross members. So I'm going to cut a notch on the frame so that I can route it through. Like you, I also planned on mounting my tanks and compressors on the inside of the rails.

Figured out I could get the body 2" lower, so I rebuilt the bag mounts

Now I can drag the bumper for sure :)

Got most of the cab deadener down. I have a "boom pad" in the mail, and am debating if I should drop the cash on a carpet kit just yet.

Wired the gauge cluster in, then when I was installing the glass to the bezel it was too tight and cracked. Not stoked on that, but I put it in anyways to see how it looked.
