Looking at getting a 59 coronet, with the 326 cid. Carb has been off for a few years, but the motor seems solid.

My biggest concern is, if the 326 won’t fire up will I be able to swap another “A” series engine and still maintain the push button transmission and such? I’m pretty sure you can but I figure someone here might have had experience.

Not sure about the motor mounts as Mopar used a bunch of different ones in those years, but the bolt pattern on the rear of the block is the same on all A series. Just check the crank extension length from the block and bolt pattern. I think all prior to the change to one piece trans/converter housing are the same though. If you identify a specific engine you want to use, I can check my old Hollanders.

after 1961, crank flange changed so any pre 62 a engine will fit and possibly b also.

A and B had different bellhousing bolt patterns, but did the spacer fit both of them?
