Projects 1959 edsel ranger build

Okay so thanks to my dad for helping me keep the thread going, he put the lowering blocks on for me, the back of my car is about as tall as a coke can now

I decided to polish up my radiator! So I'm in the process of taking the paint off. More pictures to come!

So the first polish coat is done. It will definitely need to be done again but for a first time it turned out pretty good!

Pretty good !After it gleams do they make a heat resistant clear coat?

 

Radiator is pretty but for maximum cooling,its best to have wrinkle black. The wrinkles serve as additional cooling fins

 

Ha I'd like to see the 1/k for brass, painted brass vs. every modern radiator top shell material =plastic LOL

 

So just got a little accessory in today for the cars, parts should be on the way soon!

59 Ford truck?

 

It's a 60 with the 59 hood. We were told the hood that is on it "doesnt exist" because it doesnt have the ridge down the middle. So we decided to keep it on it.

After market or Canadian,that is one nice looking grille!

 

Alright so again, just an update. Unfortunately my family has terrible luck. I have not been able to make to much progress on the car as I have been taking care of my mom that got in a crash. She is okay and is home, but is pretty much on bed rest due to the pain. Someone ran a stop sign and plowed into her. As we have been busy dealing with insurance and everything else, but I am hoping to be back out this weekend making progress.

Darn it! Glad your mom is ok, the other stuff is metal. You will get back at it when you can.

 

No matter how old your mom is she has to be sore. Take care of her, you only have one.

Grille is in excellent shape!

 

It is! Only one slight pit in the chrome at the very bottom.

Took my parts out, my mom wasn't very fond of them sitting on the kitchen counter had to hold up my missing peice!

Thats looking really good and that chrome looks perfect! As much as I like the floating grilles of the '58s, the '59s have a really cool and classy look to them

Sorry to hear about your mom's accident, that looked like a pretty hard crash.

 

I do also love the floating the 58 grills. I actually thought about doing a mesh grill for my car because I honestly didn't think I was ever going to find a decent grill. But plans have changed!

Thank you, The crash has been pretty rough on her, But she is doing much better today then the past few days. We are trying to decide if we want to take the other cars to a local show this weekend but with everything going on i'm not sure we will make it.

 

Alright so though this is not an update on the edsel, we did make it to the show. I should be working in the shop tomorrow!

Looking good!Like the sun flare off of the new grille!

 

I dig the color too,reminds me of the fenders on the Hubley 32 Chevy I just built!Very cool!
