I have a 1959 Ford Edsel which has quite worn 14 inch tires on the rims. A friend of mine recently approached me with a brand new set of 15 inch whitewall Cokers on the rims for 300.00. Other than my nice Edsel spinner hubs not fitting the new rims does anyone foresee any problems with using the 15 in wheels on the Edsel. I have already tried one on the front p***enger side and the bolt pattern matches and there doesn't seem to be any clearance problems in the wheel well. Thanks in advance.
As long as the the outside diameter is close. everything should be fine. I believe the 58-60 standard FEM road on 7.50-14's and optional were 8.00-14's with the exception of some higher priced models. You can research those diameter so your speed-o-meter will be accurate. Many will tell you Cokers are POS and you don't say if they are Bias or Radial. If they are "brand" new since you did not buy them there may be no Coker guarentee. I would also check the date code on them as they could be 3-4 yrs old and free would not even be a good deal to me
Thanks for the advice, I will check the outside diameter. The 15 in tires seem easier to find so I will probably take them for the rims at the very least. Any tricks on how to get my 14" spinner hubs onto those 15 " wheels. Thanks Tony
