Found a bumper in the back of a '69 ford van at the pick n pull 1/2 off weekend, I'm assuming it was off of the van, Anyway i got it about how i want it, it was way to wide, now to build brackets.. what do you think?
Love those 57-60 F-100's. If you need some inspiration, send me an email. I happen to know of a 59 that was finished last year. I think there is pictures in my albums... Best of luck to you... Looks great...
Wow! that bumper looks great. I'm having a hard time finding a nice rear bumper for my 59 too. What year range was the van you pulled that from?
changed the oil in the gearcase today, found little broken teeth sitting in the drain plug. just a few, real small pieces. the oil was super mettalic.. hope im not in for it.
Bumper turned out great! I used a 64 chevy bumper on mine(alli could find..it was free) I narrowed it 7 inches, tucked it 3, and flipped it upside down.
Looks great! working on my 60' and yours is inspiring! I have 59 cab, doors and a hood if you need them. I'm in west Texas though. The 59 was my donor and I got all I needed from it. Could use the space!
got some work done on the roof today, finally! Found a donor at pick n pull stockton a while back.. i dont know why i didnt just take the whole top.. kicking myself now everyday. anyway, i got to it. check it out.. started with a "precise" template.. trimmed new piece to fit.. traced cut in with the new..
Holey roof panel, Batman! That sure looks like a better idea than peeling duct tape to keep the rain out. Keep up the good work Conor
Nice job. You certainly aren't afraid to go for it. Keep the pics comin ' Let me know if you need anything. CJ
thanks CJ! check these progress pics out. I wanted it to be ready for billetproof, but it doesn't look like i will be taking it. still goin though! got it tacked in place... Can't tell you how relieved i feel, that side went in pretty darn good. On a side note. I am getting my seat reupholstered in the mean time, and i need ideas fast!! i want tuck n roll, and i dig mettallic vinyl, im thinking black and beige/tan.. pictures anyone??
On your question about sample upholstery, do an advance search on "chris casny" - he had ones for sample of "A" coupe custom upholstery. Pretty good samples !
Thanks all, Been working.. got the mid section in, as well as the drivers section replaced. finished welding most of it. still a lot more to do. worst part done. quite a bit of warpage on the roof. i have little hammer dolly experience, so hopefully it will come out decent. check the pics guys..
