your doing a nice job on the rust re pair. ive never seen a 57 60 f1 with so much rust on the roof.where did the truck originate?
Late here as well on catching up on your build! Serious credit is given on my end due to your lack letting that cab repair stop you! Your truck is coming along really swell! Look forward to future updates!
thanks fellas, I haven't done much else on it but rack up serious mileage! Daily driver. I have this , this, & these reversed steels, which need to be stripped and dipped.
Got a question for you all who have done the repro Pontiac tail lights. I've had mine installed for about a year. All I've ever had was constant "brake" lights ,no tail lights. Actually the turn signals are there but they're so faint you cant even notice . They're grounded well . Cj, Tim ? Anyone
I will ask Tim next time we talk. Is all the wiring intact all the way back? Are you using regular bulbs or LED?
Is that a Sids drop axle? I'm still waiting to afford one of those! I'm working on small stuff on my f100 now, just rebuilt my heater and looking for a new heater core for it.
you may have already tried it, but try switching the wires around at the tail lights. i had the same problem on my dads 37 ford and my cranbrook
Is that your old lady in photo #6? Is she filipina? My old lady is filipina. They are an interesting culture. Thanks, "Skrach" My Vintage Blog: www.VividlyVintage.com My 55 Chrysler Worklog: www.Pop's55.com
How hard was it to install that header? my exhaust manifold is beyond saving, and the patriot header is the only one ive seen used with the stock intake.
Reading through your post's make me definatley want to get a pickup! Theres been one for sale around me for awhile...Nice work.
Yep, I'm still in awe you did that. My '57 has some rot in the same areas, not as bad, but it's gonna take some serious welding to get looking like yours. Your truck has come along way, and it's looking great though.
Thanks man, I haven't done much to it lately. Just driving it everyday. I think I'll spend a weekend here pretty soon to flip the rear end And install the drop axle.
Sick truck man. That's some good rust repair. As you can see from my avatar I'm one a them mopar guys but I love me some old fords and especially those little ford sixes. I got a buddy with a '59. 292 and 3 on the tree, it was his daily. I keep tellin him let's just do that clutch and get her goin cuz it's a such a cool ass truck but it's been sittin about a year now. <input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input jscode="leoInternalChangeDone()" onclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">
Did you get your taillights fixed? I just installed new sockets and cleaned up and painted the housings on mine. *much* brighter now. Where did you get your drop axle?
I followed this thread in the beginning, but lost track of it. Excellent work on the rust repair. I'm in the middle of fixing all the rust on my '57 fridge. Keep us posted.
Thanks dudes . As for the tail/ brake lights I tracked it to be a brake light fuse.. Which I still haven't changed..
I meant brake light switch, I think. One of the two I can't remember, i figured it out some months back.
I installed a new Master cylinder, and slave cylinder, because I couldn't get any pedal with the old stuff, so With that being said, my stock pushrod was rusted solid, So i made a new one that i could actually adjust. The one in the middle is a del-rin prototype I ran for a few days while i aquired oil lite brass , which a friend turned on the lathe. So viola, I now have an adjustable clutch push rod. . I have a feeling i need to change the clutch, Which hasnt been done since Ive acquired the pickup. Its slipping, 1st and second are clashing.
Hey Mav, CJ just sold his 59 to Canada. Hopefully he will start on his 57. Truck looks good. I am still looking and may have something in the works this weekend.
