I have posted about this build already twice but I have more questions now and I am wanting more tips. I have a 1959 ford Fairlane 500 4 door that originally had a 292 and a C4 trans in it I am slowly making progress on it. I have a C6 trans and a 351 Windsor with a Edelbrock RPM Performer cam in it, a noise gear drive, and an all aluminum intake. I plan to put a Edelbrock or Holley 4 barrel carb on it. Can anyone send me a link to find a oil pan that will work with the stock front crossmember?

Do you need a front or rear sump pan? Doesn't really matter these guys carry both.

I don't think any one of us can point you to a pan that is guaranteed to work. Buy a front sump pan, and put it on, and then start mocking the engine up in the car. You may find that you have to notch the pan or cross member a little, or move your motor mounts forward or rearward a bit.

  5. What you want is the most common factory stock front sump pan. Here is a photo of 351w with the correct pan. It is setting in a 57 Ford and it's the same as your 59. Hope this helps.

  6. Remember that the 351 doesn't use the 289/302 pan. Don't forget the new dipstick assembly also. You'll have to drill the front cover for the stick....

  8. My motor was a passenger car unit and had the dip stick in it. I've seen some Truck covers on motors with rear sump pan have a soft plug in the timing cover dip stick hole.
