Does anybody out there have any photos, programs, or whatever for the first Gas and Fuel Nationals at Bakerfield? Still looking for more info on my 32 3 window. Also any photos of the 57 Oakland Show? Thanks for the help. bob
There is 4 guy's that were from Oregon and now Ore and Cal that use a Cl*** C motorhome and sit near the finish line on the camping area and go to all the CHRR and have been going to Famoso for nearly all of it's years. Last year they had movie (8mm) footage of some early sixties at Famoso and showed thwm on the neighbors motor home side. They may have your pics but the only way I know of getting ahold of them is at CHRR. One is named Terry and I can't remember the other names...Whoops, Nipper comes to mind. Anyhow, check them out next year.
'Sounds like the guy who showed those old films at the KOA campground this year at Bonneville 07. They were TOTALLY AWESOME to watch and relive since I was at Famoso drag strip in 59 for the first march Meet.
Why don't you just ask the Smokers? Most of them live in the trailer park right around the corner. If you sit up and beg, I'll get you a number of the Smokers in the morning.
