Good day , is there a trick to installing the front sway bar. Removed the sway bar clean it up and painted put it in may compressor room and forgot about it when installing control arms. Anyway to install sway bar without removed a lower control arms.
Not sure about a 59 but on my 56 it was the last suspension piece I put back in. The splash pans have to be out but it was really easy to install.
The '57's are different from Longroofs, but still are the last piece to go on. I do know the '59's are different again because some of the '57 guys are using them because they give more room for turning than the aftermarket hd sway bars. Not much help I know, but maybe Bob has some info on this.
I put mine back in after the rest of the front end was back in. I had the sway bar painted up real nice too. You'll have to wind it back in. I did it with the car on jack stands and the front suspension hanging. S****ed the carp out of my nice new paint too. It will hit everything imaginable on the way back in. Don't even think of putting the new ch***is pads on the bar without making a slit in them first.
I didn't want to say ****... now there... I did it. The trick to the sway bar install is to do it early if you have the whole front suspension out of the car.
