Has any one install the ISKY performer cam? It is advertised as no other mods needed and is going for $221. I have a 1960 390 motor and transmission going into a 1955 cad, I have the 3 duce carb set up going on it also, 2g rochesters. Just waiting for the car to come back from the body shop. Let me know what you think or suggest. I am not looking for a racer, just a good pick up and go when you want to.Thanks in advance, G.L.

do not discount the stock '60 Cadillac camshaft. It has .450 lift and 282 degrees duration on both ends. Look at where the stock torque peak is 430ft/lbs @ 3100 with the AFB and 435ft/lbs @3400 with the 3X2's. That seems pretty racy for a "street" cam. The HP peak is 345@4800 with the 3X2's. I'd run that with some aftermarket springs and a Pertronics lobe sensing point eliminator. Actually, I do run that set up.

What after market springs do you run and what carbs are you using on your 3x2? Sorry not trying to get in the drivers seat.

I'm running the AFB. I'd have to ask the machine shop for sure, but I believe they were a small block Chevy outside diameter.
I had fuel starvation problems at the top of 3rd, not good when passing a string of cars, with the mechanical fuel pump. There is an involved procedure in the Factory Shop Manual for setting the pre-load on the mechanical pump. I added a Carter 7psi electric pump and still had the problem, while going through the mechanical pump. When I by-passed the mechanical one the starvation went away. I left the mechanical one in place and sealed the ports. If the electric one quits I can just hook up the lines and go. For safety I installed a salvage yard Ford inertia switch in the electric pump wiring.

The stock Cadillac cam 59-62 is intake opens 27 BTDC, closes 75 ABDC, exhaust opens 73 BBDC and closes 29 ATDC. Those specs are listed "without ramps" Stock spring is 2.25" free length, 65lbs on seat and 165lbs open @ 1.496". All lobes are .450 lift at valve.
