You could file out a spline in the pitman arm. or heat and bend the steering a the spinal. IF the new axle is dropped I would set caster first

I would like to make you a new center sleeve. I can tap left and right hand threads to suit. I will make a new one piece sleeve threaded for your ends. I sure do not like welding on a drag link. Figure out the length needed I can slot the threads to use the clamps or you can get some jam nuts.

I am curious what the problem is.
Is the steering wheel clocked right when the box is centered?
The arm on on the spindle could be bent. Can you get another one for comparison?
Still willing to make you a sleeve. Free!

That's a heluva nice thing to do Andy!
It's likely that the factory cared little for steering wheel alignment in these old trucks. As long as toe could be adjusted, that was all that was necessary. I'd imagine that the steering box could be shimmed to move the wheel one way. But that would not work if it needed to go the other way.
That so called center drag link is hard to get, and the ends are part of it. So when the ends wear out, one is stuck with replacing the entire thing...IF it can be found.
I decided a while back that if I needed a new one, I'd build it in the same way you and others have suggested, making the steering adjustable on both ends.
I have the means to do so, but most don't. So your offer is a really cool thing to do!

Thanks for the offer of the new sleeve, I will take you up on that. Nothing is welded on the drag link, I only weld a portion of a threaded rod onto the end so I can continue a die onto the existing drag link threading it. I then cut the welded on stub off.

It drives straight, it has little steering wheel feel as far as correcting, the steering wheel is straight and the box is centered. Only thing I noticed that needs to be addressed is my caster. I have 2 degrees and I need 3-4 according to the shop manual. I orders 2 degree shims.
