Well I finally scored a complete big F series gauge cluster. It was from a big F series 1960 pick up. Cant wait to receive it.

Those gauges look pretty killer. Looks like a mechanical tach. Does your distributor have the tach drive on it?

Well the front clip is ready to be put on. I actually pulled the truck back out so now its facing outwards unlike in the picture. So it will be easier to put back together.

  9. don't know if you decided on color yet. was just thinking.

how bout black with a metal fleck silver roof, and orangy red pinsriping around it?

maybe sky blue striping? ooh, and paint some steelies to match the blue\red

anyway, now you know what i do all day, just sit around and design cars in my head.:D

Thats good that you have ideas and imagination...I sure dont haha. I honestly cant figure out how I want to paint the truck. Im just worried about getting it up and running for now. Im waiting on my tach drive distributor for the tach on that cluster i bought.

  11. Hey that's cool, once again just throwing' it out there, important stuff first, right? Was just thinkin' about paint jobs and thought that it sounded cool. Might put it on paper tomorrow! Anyway, nice progress on the truck. Hope that front clip goes on good! Anyway how hard is that to do? Looks like it's just a few bolts. Gotta love those old cars.

Yeah I hear ya. The front clip wasnt horrible just took alittle while with all the dirt build up and rust on some parts.

  13. yep that's another thing about those old cars.:D

Man, your'e just too late, I knew a guy who's truck got hit (you've probably seen him.) and was looking for parts for it, hauled it off for s**** awhile back though. I could use all those parts for accident-protection but don't have the money. You need to keep those parts just in case you ever get hit, better than hunting down new parts.

Well no real progress yet on the truck although I have been collecting a few parts here and there when i have the funds for it. I got a drivers side original ford spotlight with bracket and original mounting instructions. it has the correct ivory handle and chrome ring. I will have the p***enger side aswell in about a month. i also received a pair of older chrome hood springs along with a chrome cowl vent and original nos radio antenna.

Just read your thread. It started of with " this ugly truck" hang in there your doing a great job. I picked up an ugly one and with some rattle cans, elbow grease, some wrenches and determination it turned around into a cool little driver.
