I am thinking of painting scallops on my 1960 Merc ragtop. It has cragar ss wheels with narrow white walls. It will be painted an aqua blue from Summitt. I was thinking of a color for the scallops that matches the color of the convertible top. One advertizer has a dark blue top for the Merc . So i was considering painting the scallops in the same color. Nothing overboard on the scallops, fairly conservative.
Reminder......Don't buy anything from Advertisers that do not stock it for immediate shipment/delivery. You may have to settle for used ( if there is one to be found) on your front windshield. I've checked 6 places that advertise and all out of stock - back ordered with no replenishment dates. Cheapest price isn't cheap if you never get it. If someone has a NOS one - be prepared to pay up. Still researching as I said I would.
That sounds like too much matching to me. Without seeing the colors, I would suggest white (plain, pearl, or metallic) scallops with pinstripe outlines that match the roof.
