Looks great! I had a ‘60 Pontiac my last year in high school, 1967-68. It was the cheapo model with 3 on the Tree and a post. I went to the junk yard and week by week I bought the interior and dashboard trim out of a Bonneville. They have a beautiful dash. And a very roomy backseat….

Thank you! Man, they all look super cool. I can’t say I’m usually a big fan of 4 doors, but even the flat tops just look cool.
They sure do have a roomy back seat, locked myself out of the house last year and had to use the back seat like a bed in a biker trailer, worked amazing ! Haha.

well, it is back together and running; needs a bit of a carb adjustment; but it runs WAY better. Holding decent oil pressure and has more power after the tune up etc.

Thank you all very much for the advice ! I’ll do a few hot oil flushes and see what goo comes out and go from there!
    Happy cruising everyone

This is our 60 that Dad special ordered and raced in 60 and 61. It was 389 425A engine I think. 4 speed hydramatic that he ran a lot in 1/8th mile drags. IMG_6295.jpeg IMG_6295.jpeg .

LowLife yours is missing two doors! Really, it is awesome looking and I really like the look of the two doors versions a lot.

That is super cool! Sounds like it would’ve been fun with that combination! And thank you! I’ll be the first to admit I had no idea about this chassis of car at all before I got it, but the more I learn and come across the more I see there place in history the cooler these cars get to me!

it’s all back together and cruising well, just need to find some sort of 5x5 15” wheels but struggling to find what backspacing and widths are workable in these cars. The ETs are cracked, I was pretty bummed.

That’s a nice looking car, I really like those early 60’s years of the Ventura. I just got a 389 running last year that hadn’t run in almost 40 years. It was in the car in my avatar. I was concerned with some of the corrosion/scale and grease I could see through the breather hole, but once I knew it would run I made sure to change the oil and filter several times in the first few hundred miles. Every once in a while I’ll get a ticking lifter but I’ll throw in a half a pint of Marvel Mystery Oil and the lifter will quiet down within a few miles. I used to think that stuff was a gimmick but after using it I always keep some on hand.

Cool car, good luck with the engine, do you have an oil gauge? If not I would suggest getting one, either a decrease or even an increase in pressure will indicate problems.

I’m sorry I missed that! Yes I do. All seems to be good now. Was reading a little low but the timing and the carb were so out of whack after getting the carb rebuilt that it read LOW. After some adjustments she hauls like an ape now. Finally was able to do some more today as it’s been colder than a witches T!tty for the last 8 months

snow is finally gone. Let the good times roll.
