the power steering ram on my wifes T-bird just started leaking badly, I was wondering if the original unit can be rebuilt or if I need to try to find a replacement, and what I should be expecting to pay for this part. If anyone knows of a place in So-Cal that can do the work or has the part that would be even better. thanks

    expensive.
ram and the control valve should be rebuilt.
look at spending close to $500.00 to get it fixed...

I called a old supplier of mine,it is still doable.
But in your area, you should be able to find the "real" rebuilder and save money.

    Hope this helps some...

The basic design for the Bendix style PS system didn't change much over the years. Kits are still available over the counter for most of the 60's stuff.

PS cylinders are still available at the parts stores for Granadas, Mavericks, and Mustangs. Most of these things are the same length, though the fitting sizes might be different. Not a big deal to adapt fittings, though. Take your old ram and compare it to one for a 79 Granada or a 67 Mustang. Might be an interchange and usually available for less than a C-note. This is the Granada ram.

Same for the control valve. The 65-66 Mustang one bolts to the end of the link, the 67 and later screws on. This is also the Granada piece. Not sure which you have on a T-bird, but again, it might be an interchange.
