Can you or anyone else please give me more info on this car? Specifically I'd be very interested in who built the hood that's on it. THANKS in advance for any help!! Jason

Does anybody have or know where I could find production numbers and/or information on where a car was delivered? I have a '61 Biscayne 348 4 spd car that I'd like to find out more about. I've heard this particular set-up wasn't necessarily a 'factory' car, but more of a 'dealer optioned' car, and the production numbers are very low...somewhere in the neighborhood of 150. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Got the carb intake and valve covers on last night. We have run into another problem though. Check out my build thread on this car

Will 15x8 reverse steel wheel fit under 61's without rolling the edge.

I really love the dash and wheel combo here. My question is, are all 1961 impala's this cool?
Or is this a certain trim level, like a SS that came with this amount of chrome, glove box door, dash, red and white wheel etc...

048-1.jpg I found this dash couple weeks ago in a shed, and in another shed I just found the red and white wheel and steering column.
Kinda remember some of the story about the car. Was a 348 car. He bought the complete car minus the motor, (for $40) was going to pickup another 348 for it. While it was sitting in his yard, somebody came in and stole the bow tie emblem off the grill, that was the hood release.
This pissed off the old man, he tore apart the car and scrapped the shell, now I am coming across parts of it.

Yeah that is just a normal impala dash, no special trim level. Kinda too bad the one above has those modern round gauges auto meters maybe? Yuk...

I thought about finding a set of the Sun Blue line gauges to replace my small gauges with.
