Are the doors the same through those years? Found some 62 2dr sedan doors, I would like to know if they'd fit on a 64. I know the trim holes will be different but do the body lines match?
i believe the trim is the only difference in those years. i love thoses cars but haven't had one for a few years now. a buddy found a local yard thats gonna crush soon that has a solid '63 2dr and supposedly they are selling whole cars for $150. i've been trying on that for over a month now...ken....
There is one important difference. Between '62 and '64 (not sure when) Ford shifted the location of the door lock cylinder. The later door ('64, possibly '63 also) has the lock about 1" higher than a '62 door. Might not be a big deal if you're going to lose the side trim, but if you're keeping the trim this might create extra work for you. My '62 has a '64 door on the driver's side; to fit the trim it was necessary to weld a plug into the lock hole, then cut a new one using measurements and a template of the hole taken from the '62 door. Sorry I didn't make an "official" first post, but I thought this might be important.
good to know, welding a little plug is not a problem. who are you and what do you drive, duh? Welcome Fairlane 62.
