    hy,
i´m looking for the best and cheapest way to lower the front for 2" on my comet (station wagon).

i was thinking about a shelby drop but i think thats not possible at mine. if i drill the holes 1" lower so i get in to the thin sheet metal (see picture)
i have springs with 9 coils instaled and i´ve still cutted 1 coil but it seems that nothing changed. should i cut more out?

are there any 15" wheels with 4x4,5" bolt pattern they fit?
now i´m using bolt adapters to 5x4,5" and i tried some diffrent kind of wheels and had mostly the problem that i hit the upper control arm (see 2nd pic) at full turn/steering. at the moment i´m using mopar rallye wheels, but they are to wide (see 3rd pic).
i want to mount 15" wheels because i have a new set of www.

    thanks!

I had 15 inch wheels on my comet. I believe they were early mustang. Mine was 4 lug also.

The Falcon and Comet in '62 share the same guts. The Shelby drop works just fine, but it is not for lowering the car. It changes the camber curve on suspension cycling, especially body roll in corners, to improve handling.

The variety of wheels in that bolt patter is limited, but they are out there. What sort of look are you going for. I have some nice wheels on my '60 Falcon that give it a vintage road-racer look.

They are 15" x 7", with a 4-1/2" backspacing. I am running 195/60-15's. There is no contact with the control arm in the front, but I did have to re-work the outer wheel houses in the rear for clearance.

What is the size of the tires that you have, and want to use?
