I visit the FTE site and there’s a lot of knowledgeable guys there. I modified/Frankensteined an OT Ford truck and they gave me a lot of good advice. I still visit there for my other OT Ford that I still own.

It's whatever the guy that asked the question says it is, I guess.

I suppose we should just check with him first.

  3. I would look for a universal fit flex hose.
It might not look original, but I'd trust it to not slit open from age a rot a lot more then the original.

The Clark 5 speeds were put in everything. Ford, Chevy, GMC, International, etc. with that being said they are still rare as hens teeth and we’re back then too. If a sm420 fit in it a Clark would too!

  8. There is a thread on here about a 262 Ford Bonneville pickup by John Mullen... he may know of sources for component suppliers. The thread is XPO/??? as I remember...

Thank you for all the suggestions. I will check them out. With regards to the Clark. The paperwork I have shows it was delivered with the 4 speed, then sent back for the Clark. The surviving son confirms this and stated they had to do a lot of persuading to get this truck ordered this way. Maybe Ford contracted it out to get that and the drives haft done. That I don't know. But they also had to do some custom work on the front fenders as those fenders on it are not what is suppose to be on it as the factory had to change them out to accommodate the 17.5" wheels. They are reportedly from a 1 1/2 tone truck, modified to fit. That was also done at the factory. Paperwork proves it.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section. I couldn't figure out where to put it other than this category.

  11. Greg, don’t worry about where you posted it. I love your truck and think it’s super cool. Thank you for sharing it with us.

    I don't have a Clark 5 speed overdrive,but i do have a 5 speed with overdrive behind a 330 FT ford engine.
Good strong engine and good working 5speed over, for sale.

Just read another thread about a long time member's bone stock, all original '50 Buick 4 door and all I saw were glowing comments about how cool that vehicle was. I happen to agree with all the comments made about the Buick. The OP on this thread has a basically bone stock, slightly modified by virtue of a transmission, pickup which meets the criteria for this forum as well as the Buick does. The only thing I don't like about the truck is the goofy looking clear coated patina paint job. Does the truck actually belong on this forum? In my opinion, no. It should be a hit on the FTE forum though.

They would rip this "untouched survior" apart over there... I'd like to see the door tag myself..

I'm always intrigued by offbeat engines, so I looked through my ad collection and found this. Just thought it was cool...

You're absolutely right. Giant tires, stepladder so you can get in, neon lights in the wheel wells. Maybe he is better off here.

  19. Ford had at least 4 fenders.
F100s 2wds got the small opening. F250 2wds could have had the large or small opening. F350s and most 4x4s got the large wheel opening.
The trucks larger than that are flared. The super duty’s had an even larger fender.
B-600 fender. Same as large trucks up until super duty.

As far as original, we do hot rods.
Let the FTE guys worry about what’s “correct”
    I’d drive it regardless.
