Gassers being overdone? I don't know where you guys live but I don't see any around. By the way, nice score on the Nova! For more info or help try Seve's Nova Site and Team Nova. Good luck you lucky dog!
Had one back in the early '70s. 62 Nova with built 371 Olds and dual range hydro (2 band type, not the dual coupling slip box). High 12's with Isky cam and 4bbl. Power to weight = 8.5lbs/hp. Tore the spider case of the original 3:08 in two after goosing it around a corner. Put a 3:70 Posi in it and no problem, but still had spring wrapup till the tbars went on. Worst part of swap was the damn front suspension, really bad, had to go straight axle (shortened Econoline). Might have done it with Corvair front suspension but was just a kid when I did the swap. Holeshot was SUPER!
Another vote for putting it together and just drive it! Pics of mine. Stock 283 and Powerglide. I have plans for a sleeper build, but that's so far down the fun list that it may never happen. Just driving and enjoying it the way it is works for now.
stock as a rock but build a turbo SBC for it and a glide....IF you wanna have some fun with it. Steel wheels with rim screws, color matched hidden cage yadda yadda
i have a 62 Nova.........next in line project.....had one in the mid 60's...striaght axle,big block,slicks,4 speed .......lotsa fun
Nice Find, that body style is great. simple soft lines, rake it up or down and have fun! . turbo that inline. big black rally's.
A friend and I have a 62 we are doing the gaser to BUT We're Keeping the L6 in it An yeah It's not a Stocker L6 either hehe
some ideas for you, heres mine......crate 350 / 290hp (dressed up like a 327), muncie 4spd, vintage americans street is good and gassers ( i have a 40 stude coupe gasser)are cool....
I have a 62 with a 327/350 combo, small drop on it with 14" rallys. I have kinda the sleeper thing going with mine, so i have to go with the other guys, +5 SLEEPER
have had 63-64-65 hardtops...with all the 4 cyl talk on here...next build will most likely go for gas mileage...kick some jap ass...
The wheels are photoshopped. Here's what the car actually looks like: I have a ton of pics on my website: 63ChevyII.com
