Gassers being overdone? I don't know where you guys live but I don't see any around. By the way, nice score on the Nova! For more info or help try Seve's Nova Site and Team Nova. Good luck you lucky dog!

Had one back in the early '70s. 62 Nova with built 371 Olds and dual range hydro (2 band type, not the dual coupling slip box). High 12's with Isky cam and 4bbl. Power to weight = 8.5lbs/hp. Tore the spider case of the original 3:08 in two after goosing it around a corner. Put a 3:70 Posi in it and no problem, but still had spring wrapup till the tbars went on. Worst part of swap was the damn front suspension, really bad, had to go straight axle (shortened Econoline). Might have done it with Corvair front suspension but was just a kid when I did the swap. Holeshot was SUPER!

Another vote for putting it together and just drive it!
Pics of mine. Stock 283 and Powerglide. I have plans for a sleeper build, but that's so far down the fun list that it may never happen. Just driving and enjoying it the way it is works for now.

I like the straight six, gives it more personality than an average SBC.

Make a sleeper out of it and use the 6 cylinder engine, maybe add a turbo to it.

The wheels are photoshopped. Here's what the car actually looks like:
