My first Plastic Car. Starts fine 6-7 times, then nothing.
Bump the Solenoid, it starts again 6-7 Times, repeat.. You get it.
    New solenoid, Same thing.
When it does turn over, as its going thru it's start cycle, I get an arcing sound, like a Spark Plug arc, but can't locate it. Once it is running, its smooth, no misses.
None of us mutts can figure it out. Suggestions??

Have you checked the forum of the Studebaker Drivers Club?

Check ALL of your ground wires, for connection tightness, and cleanliness. Make sure you have a full-sized ground wire from the battery to the engine. Give it a tug, at both ends, to make sure that there is a good connection inside each end.

Look for the arcing at night, a lot easier to spot. Before that, trace all the starter wires to look for a possible point where something like the insulatuion beiong worn in one spot or a loose connection.
